Chellberg Farm Needs Your Help

Indiana University NW and Indiana Dunes Visitor Center

This Saturday there are going to be important meetings where your input would be most helpful to returning the animals to Chellberg Farm and keeping it as a Living Historical Farm. The Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is conducting two public meetings where you can provide input on the Park's new Interpretive Plan. That Plan will guide the Superintendent in how to operate the Park for the next eight to ten years. If Chellberg is not identified as a Living Historical Farm with animals he would be justified in replacing the farm with another program as is presented in the current Interim Interpretive Plan. Despite over 6,000 signatures on Petitions and many Resolutions from Governmental bodies, the Superintendent has not returned the animals, has not had the barn painted and is leaving valuable historic farm equipment unprotected from the elements this winter. We need to let our voices be heard!!!!

5 pm - 7 pm at Dorothy Buell Visitor Center, located at 1420 Munson Road, Porter IN.
