Influential Women to Donate Event Proceeds to Local Nonprofits

Influential Women of Northwest Indiana Awards Banquet recognizes local influential women on May 31 at the Radisson Star Plaza.  Proceeds from the event will go to support local nonprofit businesses that build up and support women. Dunes Creek restoration earns another award

A project to restore Dunes Creek to its natural condition at Indiana Dunes State Park has earned the property another conservation award. The Indiana Division of the Izaak Walton League of America recently named the Dunes Creek Daylighting Project the winner of the organization's Jane Dustin Water Quality Award. Chamber to Host Annual Golf Outing

Tickets are now on sale for the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Outing, which will be held on Monday, June 4, at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton. The outing will begin at 7:30am, with registration and a full breakfast. A shotgun start for registered golfers will begin at 10am. At 2:30pm, guests will enjoy after-play dinner and drinks. Local Fire and Police Departments to compete in Annual Battle of the Badges Tournament

Eight local police and fire departments will put their skills on the basketball court to the test in the 5th Annual "Battle of the Badges" tournament. Valpo Velvet ice cream, Indiana Dunes named in statewide Top 10 lists

Valpo Velvet ice cream has been named among the "Top 10 Indiana Places for Ice Cream," and the Indiana Dunes made the list of "Indiana's Top 10 Summer Gotta-Dos." Both places were announced as winners Friday by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development, which is putting together a variety of Top 10 lists.
