Chesterton's European Market Calling All Vendors

The Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that after this long winter season, the Chesterton’s European Market will be opening early on May 1, 2010. Playing the Mind Games: Porter County High Schools Face Off

Purdue North Central - Porter County will host its fourth annual Academic Super Bowl Invitational on Wednesday, March 3 on the PNC Westville campus. The event is free and open to the public. The competition will be in the Library-Student-Faculty (LSF) Building Assembly Hall, Room 02 and telecast to LSF 144 for spectators. CHS Handbook design competes for $1000 prize

Each year, Visual Communications students create the design for the Chesterton High School Handbook. It is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about successful graphic design, the commercial printing process and communicate to others the essence of our educational community through art. Crafts at Westchester Library

Westchester Public Library recently hosted Krafts with Karyn in the Children's Department at Thomas Library in Chesterton. Two different February days focused on different crafts. Attendees created birdfeeders from pinecones and peanut butter and also made valentines. On March 6, 2010 patrons are invited to join Karyn in making a Saint Patrick's Day craft. Duneland Economic Development Company Announces Officers

Duneland Economic Development Company (DEDC) President, Mark Chamberlain, has recently announced the election of officers for 2010.  Mr. Chamberlain has been elected to continue as President while Patricia Carlisle was elected as Vice-President, Heather Ennis as Treasurer and Toni Biancardi as Secretary.  Other members of the Board include Rick Hokanson, Gayle Polakowski, Davis Lasser, Bernie Doyle and Brock Lloyd. Lakeshore Elites Cheerleaders Take Home 1st Place Trophies

  Lakeshore Elites Sr. All Girl Level 3 Team took 1st place at at New Prairie High School Cheerleading Invitational Sunday February 21, 2010 located in New Carlisle IN. This is talented group of girls representing Lakeshore Elites of Chesterton. They performed a 2 1/2 minute routine to music which included a cheer, dance, jump series, stunts and tumbling passes. Threads of Time: Historic Textiles

Exhibit at Westchester History Museum Runs through May 16th The exhibit celebrates a wide variety of textiles from the museum's collection, including 19th century coverlets and quilts and a variety of antique clothing and handwork.
